On Sunday, October 6, 2024, Ascension Anglican Church, Saskatoon, was honoured to host an Episcopal Visit, Confirmation, and Reception Service officiated by Bishop Mike Stewart, Suffragan Bishop for the West.

The day began with Bishop Stewart conducting a Confirmation Service at Saint Saviour’s Anglican Church, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. Following this, he undertook a three-hour journey to Saskatoon, accompanied by Rev. Gary Stobbs, to preside over our own special service.

The Confirmation and Reception Service at Ascension Anglican Church was a deeply meaningful occasion, as Bishop Stewart welcomed new members into the Anglican Communion and encouraged the congregation in their faith journey. His inspiring message and pastoral presence were a blessing to all in attendance.

Later in the day, Bishop Stewart continued his ministry journey, departing for Abbotsford, British Columbia.

We are deeply grateful to Bishop Stewart for his dedication and the effort he made to be with us, making this a memorable day in the life of our church. We pray for God’s blessings upon his continued ministry and safe travels as he serves the Lord and His people across the diocese.
